This Privacy Policy explains how TurnYourClaim ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit https://turnyourclaim.com (the "Site"). We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your data responsibly. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.

Who We Are

TurnYourClaim publishes general information and tools about vehicle warranty disputes and insurance claims. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. For our scope and research process, see our About page.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways:

1. Information you provide. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you choose to include. The claim checklist does not request a name, contact details, or case documents. It creates its text in your browser without sending case records to us or to a provider. Do not email confidential case files.

Local draft and search tools. The Illinois notice kit lets you edit text in your browser. Your draft is not uploaded or saved by TurnYourClaim; it is lost when you leave or reload the page unless you copy or download it. Add identifying details privately to your saved copy. A guide search is handed to the library using temporary browser session storage, then removed after the library reads it. Search text is not added to the page URL or our custom analytics events. Third-party analytics and advertising may still process technical visit information as described below.

Saved guides and optional reading positions

Choosing “Save guide” stores a guide identifier and save/expiry times in this browser's local storage. Up to 20 saved guides are retained for 30 days from saving. “Remember my place” is off by default. If you turn it on, this browser can keep the last section you reached in up to 10 guides, with visit/expiry times, for up to 30 days. Expired records are removed the next time these features run; storage is not remotely erased while your browser is closed. This is not an account, a backup, or cross-device syncing. It does not retain document drafts, case records, search text or form inputs. People using the same browser may see the list. You can turn off remembered positions without removing saved guides, or clear both in reading settings. Browser data clearing may also remove them.

Our custom analytics distinguish the display of save controls, successful save/remove actions, clicks to another guide or a saved reading position, successful link copies, and changes to the remember setting. These events use predefined labels and a query-free page path. We do not upload your reading list, saved section IDs or local timestamps in those events. Technical visits may still be processed by the analytics and advertising services described below.

2. Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on each page. This information is collected through cookies, server logs, and analytics tools.

3. Third-party services. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may collect information according to their privacy policies and your applicable settings. We measure checklist creation, downloads, calculator use, and link clicks using predefined event labels. We do not include names, email addresses, case narratives, calculator amounts, or document text in these custom events.

How We Use Information

To respond to editorial, privacy, and business inquiries you send us.
To analyze how visitors use the Site and improve our content and user experience.
To deliver advertisements through Google AdSense, including personalized ads based on your interests where permitted by law.
To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security incidents, and abuse.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not currently collect or forward attorney case-evaluation submissions. Opening an outside-help link takes you to that provider’s site; it does not send your checklist. Advertising and analytics providers may receive information under their own data practices, described below.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Essential cookies — required for basic Site operation (e.g., session management).
Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-KGD9VFLWZG) to understand visitor behavior in aggregate. Learn more at Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense and its partners to deliver and measure advertisements. You can manage personalized ads at Google Ads Settings.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some Site features may not function as a result.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this and other Internet sites. How We Share Information

Outside providers. If you choose to use an external website, its privacy policy governs information you provide there. No paid referral service is currently active on TurnYourClaim.
Service providers. We use hosting, email, analytics, and advertising services to operate the Site. Their handling of information depends on the service and its terms.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Your Rights

California residents (CCPA / CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, request correction, and opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, email contact@turnyourclaim.com.

EEA / UK residents. Applicable data-protection law may provide rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data and to object to processing. Contact us about information you have sent directly. Google’s available privacy and consent controls govern its services as applicable.

All users. You may request deletion of information you have emailed us by contacting contact@turnyourclaim.com, subject to applicable retention requirements.

Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
